Where is the insurance valid? expand_more
The policy covers all of Europe and the Mediterranean Basin — including all countries where Vignette Register provides e-vignette registration: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria, plus dozens of other European countries.
Are winter and amateur sports included? expand_more
Amateur sports (football, cycling, swimming, hiking, etc.) are included in the standard coverage. Winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing) require an additional extension. Extreme sports require a separate extension.
Who underwrites the insurance? expand_more
The insurance is underwritten by SIGNAL IDUNA Polska TU S.A., part of the SIGNAL IDUNA Group — one of the largest insurance and financial institutions in the German market with over 100 years of experience. Supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF).
When does coverage start? expand_more
For medical expenses, legal assistance and third-party liability: coverage starts when you cross the border of your country of departure. For personal accident and luggage: coverage starts when you leave your place of residence.
Can I buy insurance separately from a vignette? expand_more
Currently, travel insurance is available as an add-on during your vignette registration checkout. Simply tick the insurance option at Step 4 — no separate forms or additional websites required.
What does "no limit" for transport to country of residence mean? expand_more
It means SIGNAL IDUNA covers the full cost of transporting you back to your home country if you are unable to use your pre-planned means of transport due to illness or accident — with no cap on the amount. This cost does not reduce your medical expenses sum insured.
